Q: I am thinking about keeping the insurance money and getting the vehicle repaired later.
A: On the surface this may seem to be a good idea. This is what happens in real life: The settlement is a negotiated price to save the insurance company money. If you get into another accident in the same place the insurance company will not fix the vehicle. If there is more damage (hidden damage) to the vehicle you will not be able to collect. If you sell the vehicle, the car lot will deduct at least twice the amount of the accident to make sure they do not lose money.
Q: Do I need to get more than one estimate?
A: No. Oregon Law states you can have your vehicle repaired at the body shop of your choice.
Q: Do I have to accept non-OEM (original manufacturers parts)?
A: This is dependent on your insurance policy.
Q: Is your work guaranteed?
A: For as long as you own the vehicle. Rust is the only exception.
Q: Will I have a paid rental car while my vehicle is being repaired?
A: This is dependent on your insurance company.
Q: When do I pay the deductible and to who do I pay the deductible to?
A: When you pick up your vehicle, pay Mike's Auto Body and Paint.
Q: Do I need and appointment for an estimate during working hours (8:00am to 5:00pm)?
